Welcome to the Cheltenham Show 2008. In so doing, we trust that this year’s show will go ahead without the untimely "intervention" by the weather, like last year. We consider ourselves to have been extremely lucky that the worse damage was to a set of Show Jumps that simply floated away! ...and were fortunate to have had a team of dedicated helpers that cleared-up in such appalling conditions.

Since July last year we have managed to secure additional funding to assist with the financial cotastrophie suffered as a consequence of the Show's last minute cancellation and would wish to thank the 'Gloucestershire Community Foundation', along with ALLof our Sponsors who have maintained their support. Needless to say, without a great deal of sympathy towards our aims, the Show most certainly would have been lost.

We now look forward to 2008, with all Rings and the turf/ground being prepared by the dedicated and most helpful Ground Staff at the Racecourse. Irrigation will be used as necessary – just like 2007!! The Turf will be regularly mown to ensure the ground is as near perfect as can be humanly achieved. As a Committee, we wish to provide the sort of show in which we would wish to compete; to this end, the Prize Monies for the Affiliated Classes is more evenly spread across the placings. Also, various dispensations have been afforded by the BSJA to enable us to award the prize funds on offer. There are also several Classes offering dual qualification for Second Rounds and the Scope Festival. Also included are qualifiers in the Driving Ring plus addtional prizes for the Unaffiliated Show Jumping.

The number of volunteers in general and on the Committee have been falling over recent years, and we are seeking to "reinvigorate"! Hence if there is anybody out there who would like to join "the Team", in various capacities, then PLEASE, do not hesitate in making contact with us.
